The EDP Auditors Association, Inc. was founded in California in 1969. Los Angeles was the first organized Chapter. In 1994, the Association name was changed to the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) to reflect current industry terminology and continued to serve its membership. Currently, ISACA has over 35,000 members worldwide in 169 chapters.

The Asian Region is the fasterst growing region in ISACA and currently has more than 8200 members. India continues to hold pride of place as the fastest growing country in Asia both in terms of number of Chapters (9) and number of members (more than 1800).

The Coimbatore Chapter was formed in 1997 and currently has appoximately 25 members.

The Chapter has been nurtured since its early days by the dedicted leadership and efforts of its many office-bearers, particularly past Presidents such as C.N. Srivatsan and R. Raghavendran.

The Chapter hold its Annual General Meeting every year in September and office-bearers hold office for a period of 2 years.
